Indigo pieces, a day out and a win!!!

At last I have made a couple of items from the indigo day. I was determined not to put all that lovely fabric in a drawer!

The top fabric was hurriedly painted with melted candle wax just before dunking and probably came out better than all the more carefully stitched shibori pieces!.
The lower picture was procion dyed and then printed with a lino cut I made recently. Its beaded lightly and both are lined with hand-dyed cotton. They are strong, comfortable and lovely to use as a pencil case and purse.

Last week I went to the annual charity day at our local quilt shop. It's in the lovely village of Seisdon and is called White Cottage Country Crafts. Jackie, the proprietress, cooks a stunning array of lunches and the proceeds go to a nearby charity.

Quilts are displayed in the garden and the shop is buzzing!
Across the road a gentleman in his 80's who still gardens allows us to go and look at his flowers. There's a burbling stream at the end of the lawn. I had to take some pictures of course.

 I love his honesty!!!!!

When I was home I had a phone call to say I'd won first prize in the raffle. I couldn't believe it I had won one of Jackie's amazing quilts.
How wonderfully lucky is that!!!
