May be getting a new sewing machine for Christmas. Tried out Janome Memorycraft 6600 today and a Bernina 440QE. Still can't decide. Ideas, suggestions anyone?
I have a Janome which serves me well. All the cool cats drive Berninas, I believe. Try them both doing the stitching you like. Try free machine embroidery on both. Then go with whichever you lose your heart to. Lovely choice to have.
I am in love with Bernina - smooth stitching, the way it purrs when I put my foot on the pedal and straight up good looks... Enjoy your new machine, whichever you decide to go with.
I am still fond of my 25 year old Janome, but when it was getting tired I found a new love, Bernie. Love the knee lift, stitching, ....everything. I bought one model too early to have stitch regulator, and unfortuantely it is going to be a long time before I can wear it out and get a new one again.
Glad to hear you've ordered a Bernina! Sure you're going to love your shiny new machine when it arrives. And it'll be with you for years and years... As virtualquilter says, make sure your model can take a stitch regulator - mine is one too early as well. Bugger!
oops, meant to comment on your most recent post, but not knowing anything at all about what you're talking about the comment here may work just as well.
your comments are always appreciated - I enjoy reading them. You don't need to have a blog to leave a comment, you can select the name/URL option and fill in just your name instead of a blog link.
