Starting with the poem Do Not Stand At My Grave and Weep, I have been making a small journal quilt to honour the death of my Mum two weeks ago.
Writing the poem on fabricChopping up the fabric into 1.5" strips and adding 1.5" squares along the way of some hand-dyed fabric
re-piecing the fabric
sketching in some poppies
adding colour
All very therapeutic and allows me to thoroughly imbibe this wonderful poem.

...and this morning the sky rewarded me at dawn with the same colour theme:

ReplyDeleteA beautiful tribute piece Clare. You are in my thoughts, -sus
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful to make this with all that love and memories 'woven' or rather stitched into what will become a family heirloom. It made me emotional about my own Mum, often in my thoughts, who died 39 years ago.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you, Clare.

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely way to memorialize your mother. Sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful. I worked on an art quilt for 5 weeks while at the hospital with my mom before she died...and it was where I poured my emotion. Your piece is so special.
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful way to express some hard-to-express feelings... showing such a mastery of your materials, and a beautiful nod to your mother. BTW, I have sewn poppies, and used them because they signal BOTH memory (veterans; Flanders Field) and forgetting (opium)...

ReplyDeleteWhenever it is vital to you personally since your following date is really a man or women who will be blonde having blue little brown eyes subsequently do not find diverted in order to anybody who will be possibly not. You'll find millions of people in existence. But you should cheap coach factory backpacks be realistic. If you are fat, bald, ugly and 75 years of age do not insist the next date is far better looking than you and half your age, or you may well be looking and looking and never ever finding.Think of the things that really matter to you. Perhaps you are very keen on having children, love animals and are a homebody. Then it would be pointless http://coachfactorybackpacksoutlet3o.webs.com/ to date someone who hates animals and works in a meat factory and loves to go out all of the time.Men should beware of women who are looking for a meal ticket and while it happens less often it does happen the other way around where successful cheap coach factory backpacks hard working women may get loafers or spongers wanting to meet them. Beware of the woman who wants you to go shopping with her and expects you to let her use your credit card.
ReplyDeleteContinually demand upon finding out anything you are feeling you might want to realize in advance of pondering conference. Be wary associated with anybody who will be within a enormous dash off to to satisfy after a timely speak. That they tend to have got http://beautifulcoachfactorybackpacks3t.webs.com/ something to hide or they do not think things through. I would suggest that you chat to them online and when you feel safe with them move on to emails, then phone calls and then a meet. If your gut instinct tells you that the person is fishy, boring or not interesting enough then end it and move on to someone else. Whenever I talk to my clients about the dates they have met off line and the ones they have met say ten times and then stopped meeting they always stopped because eventually after ten meets they found out something they needed to know, such as that the other person has been in Coach Factory Outlet prison or hates children. It is sensible to make sure about such important things before meeting rather than meeting the person ten times and then eventually finding out. Why waste such a lot of precious time on meeting someone who is unsuitable? Make a list of questions to ask the person before you meet and only meet them if you like the answers.
