Daughter Quilts! ..... yeeehah!

My daughter, Issbel aged 10 has a house art competition next week. She has been inspired to make an art quilt. (proud, proud, pleased Mummy). the theme is "Water" so she has done a marinescape.

she seems to have commandeered my Bernina. Help....she needs her own. Maybe in another ten years?

  1. Looks like she is well on her way to having fantastic piece! I agree, she will need a machine of her very own.....perhaps one day, you two will share a collaborative quilt

  2. Your daughter's quilt looks beautiful, I'd love to see it in full away from the machine. Clever girl and I like her top too :-)

  6. Issbel's quilt looks stunning - and yes, I can well understand that you feel proud of her!

When I got my Bernina last year I let my daughter (now 13) take over the other machine - but so far, there were only very few occasions when we wanted to sew simultaneously.

Often, it seems they are periodically very intensively interested in one thing, then again in something different - so I would say: wait a little and see.

But I would in any case plan giving my daughter a machine of her own when she's leaving home one day!

  7. Oh. . .that is lovely! I can see why you feel proud.
I think she's a lucky girl to have such a talented mum to inspire and encourage her. X
