Mad Mummy In The Attic

My kids have been wonderful today and allowed the "Mad Mummy of The Attic" to play with her sewing.

It's a real contrasting weather day - rain and sun in unequal and unpredictable proportions. They have been making hundreds of Hama bead pictures whilst the manic ma has been throwing all these gorgeous Moda bits together for a Christmas table topper. I know it's nowhere near that time of year but it is irresistible to do an odd bit of preparation now and again. All of this fabric range was gorgeous and I couldn't choose which ones not to have so I came away from the shop with a little bit of everything! On Friday I go to the N.E.C. International Quilt Festival (the Mecca of all Quilters!) and I can get the borders and backings then. How good it is to have a shopping list!

After a that, by way of contrast, and with the children still unbelievably OK, the eccentric mater got carried away free motioning some silk throwsters waste between dissolvable film just for the sheer hell of it.

I sometimes wish I could do something more useful like making curtains...how dull.

  1. Can't wait to see the beautiful table topper all finished and installed. P'raps you'll make some more muffins to put on it. Hope so.
