Fascinated at the moment by the minute tiny things around. Tiny parts of skeleton leaves, decaying vegetation in the garden and the texture of the very small. Feeling the need to make little but detailed pieces so this quilt, which is three layered and fully turned is only 3" x 2" (7.5cm x 5cm).
More of this to come. I think.
Very cute! There is something very appealing about small things.
ReplyDeleteyes and we can store little things in tins and boxes and drawers and open and rediscover them!
DeleteButton as a moon....that is so clever and the entire piece is wonderful! Tiny but no less beautiful than a larger piece. I think as artists we notice things more, and maybe as I get older too. So the tiny, the textured, the interesting helps us all to savor the dday that much more. It's like that sense of wonder a child has.
ReplyDeleteYes I agree - it's a sense of mindfulness about our surroundings
DeleteI agree too, we are surrounded by beauty and wonder and we try to bring this to the attention of others. Lovely little quilt, Clare, you must have nimble fingers.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jill - at the moment I can work tiny in good light! I like the fiddly bits!
